This is Wilhelmism Architecture. I also found this odd. haha It's actually an old Telegraph service building. Not sure what it serves as to today. Our guide said certainly not for Telegraphing. Wa Waaa Waaaaaa.
House from the outside.
This is picture further proves the 'absurdity point." Wannsee is absolutely one of the most beautiful parts of Berlin. To schedule a meeting here to discuss the systematic Genocide of millions of the so called Jewish "Race" makes hardly any sense to me. It's just too strange, uncanny I guess. They were seriously crazy- But that's Tara and Adam. They're not crazy, rather nice actually. But after all the beautiful weather helped with the sobering exhibits.
I feel weird about posting this but for me it was important to understand how absurd the NZ politics were.
"The notorious Wannsee Conference occurred in this house January 0f 1942. For the Remembrance of those Jewish fellow men, that through National socialist Tyranny perished." ... believe me that was not easy!
First female Rabbi in the entire world! And where else but Berlin could she have been ordaned!? She lead resistance efforts in many forms against NAZI propoganda, politics and action.
Another shot of the House
The exhibits were so complete, that we had to pull each other way from reading every single note card. We visited the house (currently a museum) for at least four hours.
Had to visit the Wannsee House where the Wannsee conference took place.
Do you know the way to Wannsee?

She made a joke about my hair... The blurry women is the girl in the purple jacket's host mom. She has one of the most interesting immigration stories I've heard: Met the love of her life in Damascus, love at first sight is how she described it. She was from Syria and he from south west Africa. After they married they had to flee the country because of his political involvement. They finally settled in Germany where they battled/battle persecution and raised two children. I told her that she should write a book, she said she was working on it.

Caffee und Kuchen (baked stuff) Party at one of our friend's Host's House.
Beautiful Berlin weather and the Platz. The statue in the center signifies a reunited Germany!
Balcony looking toward the Reichstaggebaeude and ... that other building.
That's Angelas Glock. She rings it to bring order or pfanne Kuchen. This room is where the grosse Coalition meets (all the big wig political folk) every wednesday. The clock was by far the neatest part: a gift from Conrad Adenauer, a previous German Parlament Counselor directly after the second WW.
I have no clue how or why Adam took this picture. He said it was to prove that I was there but he only said that after the fact... kinda sketchy. But hey I was there.
On the bus 100 headed straight for the Bundeskanzleramt aka German White House. Funny thing: we just finished eating at an Indisches Restaurant.
All the schickey mickey Menschen during intermission. I was dressed in a sweatshirt and blue jeans. No one said anything but I did catch a few looks from the ladies wearing dead animals. Water here costs three Euros!
Ironic architecture- Brecht was very modern Play write/ Author and somehow he ended up with this tacky red velvet (though still aesthetically pleasing) baroque style small Opera house. Ironic huh?

Die Dreigroschenoper at the Berliner Ensemble. They play first premiered in this building in 1928 and then again was one of the first plays after WWII to be performed. For it to return in 2008 was a big deal and I was there! It was simply amazing and so well done! I sat on the right side second floor right of the light (on the right hand side. Does stage left help?)
